I schedule the adult programming here at the Amherst Library. I would like to have a program about the Civil War. Do you know anyone who can help?
Dear Colleagues,
I have tried to find an e-mail contact for your organization, but could not, so I hope this means of communication is acceptable.
In March 2014 Ohio University press published my book, “Citizen-General: Jacob Dolson Cox and the Civil War Era.” Subsequently, I have spoken at several CWRTs, including in Mahoning County and Kent, as well as at the Garfield NPS center (where the book is on the shelves for sale). I will be speaking at the Garfield symposium in November also.
I am a native of Cleveland, but now live outside Washington, DC. However, I am frequently in the Cleveland area visiting relatives. In fact, I will be there the weekend of July 17-19 and will try to attend your symposium at the Garfield center.
I look forward to hearing from your group about the possibilities and logistics of scheduling an appearance to speak about my book and Jacob Cox.
Here is a link with information about the book:

Thanks for your consideration, Gene Schmiel
Melanie,
I apologize for the delay in replying. I did not get a notice of your comment (as I should) and have not visited our site during our summer hiatus. A number of our members have prepared talks for our group and might be interested in presenting one of them for you. Can you provide particulars as to possible times and preferred length? We very well may be able to help. Contact me at tomhorv@sbcglobal.net.
